1. Who we are

This website is operated by Ellen Cleaning, a professional cleaning business serving homes, villas and businesses across the Algarve region of Portugal. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Portuguese Law no. 58/2019, Ellen Cleaning is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What information we collect

We only collect the information you choose to give us and a small amount of technical data needed to run the website:

• Contact & enquiry details you submit through our contact or quote forms — your name, phone number, email address and any details about the cleaning you describe.
• Basic website analytics — pages visited and approximate region, collected in a privacy-friendly, self-hosted way to help us improve the site. We do not build advertising profiles.
• A language cookie that simply remembers whether you prefer the site in Portuguese, English, French, Spanish or Italian.

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, arrange and provide the cleaning service you request, and keep in touch about that service. Our legal bases under the GDPR are your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) when you submit a form, and the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)). Basic analytics rely on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in understanding and improving our website.

4. We never sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not use it for third-party advertising. The only parties who may process your data are the trusted service providers that help us operate — for example our website hosting and the email service we use to receive your message — and they act only on our instructions. We do not transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area, other than through such providers under the safeguards required by the GDPR.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry and contact details only for as long as we need them to respond to you and provide the service you asked for. When they are no longer needed, we delete them. We do not keep your contact details for ongoing marketing, and you will not receive marketing messages from us unless you specifically ask for them.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR and Portuguese law you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased ("right to be forgotten");
• restrict or object to our use of your data;
• receive a copy of your data (portability); and
• withdraw your consent at any time.

This site uses only essential and privacy-friendly cookies: one to remember your chosen language, and basic self-hosted analytics to count visits. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Any material changes will be posted on this page.
